What is a Tree Evaluaton?

There are different options for Tree Evaluations.

Green Team Management offers:

A Home Owners Tree Health Review. This includes a illustrated booklet the Home Owner keeps to explain the way soil, irrigation, planting and pruning effect the tree. This helps the Home Owner know how to take care of their trees.

In the Evaluation the Home Owner is being educated on the environment the tree is trying to grow in and the best management practices to insure it is healthy for the long term.

We strongly recommend home owners go through this first step to better understand the health and care of their trees.

The next option is Tree Risk Assessment. This is a formal written report which, as requested by the client, can be as simple as a visual inspection or as complex as excavation and load bearing test.

Normally a Health Review is done first to determine what needs to be done to provide the information necessary for the assignment.

The third option is a Tree Appraisal. This is either for the value of a tree or landscape plant before or after damage, and is under the guidelines of the Council of Tree & Landscape Appraisers Guide (10th Edition). Under these guidelines there are several valuation methods used to determine the value of the plant or tree in question.

What does a Tree Evaluation Cost?

Price is determined by the amount of time necessary to complete the project.

Tree Health Evaluation for Home Owners.
includes a free 20 page illustrated booklet on caring for trees in Idaho soils and types of irrigation management.
This starts with a 20 minute sit down with the client, going over the booklet so there is an understanding of how trees grow in healthy environments and what to look out for in tree issues.

The next step is to go out in the yard for 25 minutes and review the trees in the actual landscape. The illustrated booklet has been developed over ten years and does an amazing job of educating the home owner quickly so often they recognize the problems with their trees.
Cost is $65 for the House Call and the 45 minute review (time is billed at 15 minute increments of $17, for time past the initial 45 minutes).

Tree Risk Assessmentas per ISA Levels of Tree Risk Assessment
Level One: Visual inspection of a single tree with a one page written report $65
Level Two: Basic Assessment of a single tree, hands-on, three page report $175
Level Three:Advanced Assessment of a single tree, report with legal reference $Bid
with additional fees for consulting with secondary parties and court time

Clients are often not sure which level they need; you can request a Level One with the understanding that if it is not adequate to complete the assignment, the Level One inspection report will explain that, and can be upgraded at the time of inspection by phone or text approval from the client.

Tree Valuation
This can range from $65 to $375, or more, depending on the scope of the project.
The first step is to set a time to go over the situation with Ted Smith on the  phone (he will need to be in the office), once the elements of the project are understood, and a scope has been written up, a firm price can be quoted for the work.
Depending on the real property involved in the project, a real estate appraiser may need to be added to the total.

What to expect from your GTM Tree Evaluation

 Who Can You Trust...?

Unfortunately anyone can "call" themselves an Arborist. And often a companies motivation is not about Tree Care - but profits.

As an independent consultant, Green Team does very limited services, so there is not that conflict of interest a "free" look at your trees often brings with it. You are paying for the knowledge to make the correct decisions about your personal property; and that is the primary goal when you hire Green Team Management to do a Tree Evaluation.

A Insurance Company needing the facts about actual cost of damage, to a Realtor needing to know if there is a liability associated with a tree situation, to a Home Owner wanting to protect their investment; we provide concise accurate information, that helps you make the right decisions.
